 In the second semi-final of the U-19 Cricket World Cup, Australia defeated Pakistan by one wicket after a thrilling encounter.


The match played in Benoni, Pakistan set Australia a target of 180 runs, which they achieved in 49.1 overs at the loss of 9 wickets.


From Australia, H Dixon scored 50 and O Pack played an inning of 49, while T Campbell was the leading batsman with 25.


Ali Raza of Green Shirts took 4 wickets for 34 runs and Arafat Minhas took 2 wickets for 20 runs.


Earlier , Pakistan set Australia a target of 180 runs to win, the green shirts were bowled out for 179 runs in 48.5 overs.


Azan Owais and Arafat Minhas scored 52 runs from the side of green shirts, 7 players of Pakistan team could not enter in double figure.


On behalf of the Australian team , Tom Straker took 6 wickets for 24 runs, who was declared the man of the match for his excellent performance.


Pakistan and Australia was unbeaten so far in the U-19 World Cup.


Earlier, in the first semi-final, India won the honor of playing the final of the event for the fifth time in a row by defeating South Africa at home ground.
